Video Premiere: Elliott Yamin's 'You Say'
May 11, 2009 03:05:50A music video for Elliott Yamin's new single titled "You Say" has just arrived. Shot back-to-back with "Fight for Love" music video in Los Angeles, California, the video directed by Nick Spanos features Elliott's performance alongside his band as well as the time he wanders on the beach.
"You Say" is lifted from Elliott's sophomore studio album "Fight for Love" which has been in U.S. stores since May 5. The track has been announced as the record's first single to be released in Japan. No fixed date is shared regarding when the song will come out though.

Directed by Nick Spano, the video follows Elliott in his effort to win his love interest's heart. He sends her love messages, one of which read "you were meant to be alive with me tonight."
"Fight for Love" is the title track off Elliott Yamin's upcoming sophomore album "Fight for Love". The song written by Johnta Austin is confirmed to be the lead single from the effort, which is set for May 5 U.S. release.
Elliott Yamin to Drop New Album in May
January 20, 2009 10:01:17Elliott Yamin, season 5 "American Idol" finalist, is currently working on his sophomore studio album and plans to release it on May 5 via Sony/ATV Music Publishing's Hickory Records. A new single meanwhile is expected to arrive in February.
Elliott will contribute in the songwriting desk for new materials in the album. He is also going to team up with producers Jermaine Dupri, duo Stargate and Josh Abraham among others in getting the effort ready.

The Grammy Award-winning rock bassist, singer, and record producer is having his first solo album coming out by March 11 later this year.
The LP, titled "Randy Jackson's Music Club, Vol. 1," is due out on his new label, Dream Merchant 21, and released through the Concord Music Group.

Elliott Yamin Named Spokesman for the American Diabetes Association (ADA)

Elliott Yamin is now having a new task to complete besides singing. The 2006 American Idol alum has been named the national spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
He, thus, will have to encourage individuals and families to participate in the Association's newest "I Decide to Fight Diabetes" campaign, Step Out to Fight Diabetes fundraising walk, and to connect with ADA youth.

The chart this week went through quite a change both in the number of copies sold and the albums reigning it. Coming first, second and third are all new comers. Modest Mouse's "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" sold the highest unit this week with 129,000 and therefore has the right to #1 spot. The tight competitor, Joss Stone's "Introducing Joss Stone" came in at No. 2 after selling 118,000 at the first week. Elliott Yamin with self-titled debut album meanwhile joins his fellow idol casts in the chart by sitting at #3 due to total sales of 90,000.
DAUGHTRY in its seventeenth week still holds its last week position at #4 after selling 76,000. With the kind of number, DAUGHTRY's self-titled album has sold a total of 2 million copies worldwide. A tie occurs between newcomer Marques Houston's "Veteran" and old reigner Akon's "Konvicted". "Veteran" and "Konvicted" have both sold an approximate of 69,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan but the former is positioned ahead at #5.
