Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is a musical romantic comedy film directed by Ol Parker, from a screenplay by Parker and Catherine Johnson. The film is a sequel to the 2008 film Mamma Mia! and is based on the songs of ABBA. The film stars Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Dominic Cooper, and Lily James. In the film, Sophie Sheridan learns about the events that led to her mother's pregnancy and subsequent birth, in the summer of 1979.
