The 'Fall Guy' actor has shifted his focus from psychologically complex roles to prioritize the well-being of his family, including his longtime partner Eva Mendes and their two daughters.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Gosling, 43, has revealed a significant change in his approach to acting, focusing on roles that align with the values of his family. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Gosling explained that he now prioritizes roles that do not create a "dark place" within him. He and Eva Mendes make decisions with their family's best interests in mind.

"It's only recently that I feel like I realized that I have this opportunity to actually make the kind of films that made me love movies," Gosling said. He credits the 2016 musical "La La Land", in which he starred alongside Emma Stone, as the catalyst for this shift. The film, he said, was something he knew his daughters would enjoy, inspiring him to make movies that could be shared with them.

Gosling's change in mindset stems from becoming a father. "I think it's happened when I had kids - really, you start to be way more conscious of everything you do and everything you've ever done and everything you will do if you get a chance to do it," he said.

Despite his departure from darker roles, Gosling highlights the role of Mendes as his acting coach and support system. "She is with the girls, and when she works, I stay home with the girls, too. I couldn't be here without her," he said at the premiere of his latest action/comedy movie, "The Fall Guy".

Mendes has requested that Gosling avoid dangerous stunts involving fire, a request echoed by their daughters. Gosling expressed his gratitude for his family's support and guidance, emphasizing that their well-being drives his career decisions.
