American Assassin is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Michael Cuesta, from a screenplay by Stephen Schiff and Edward Zwick & Marshall Herskovitz, based on the 2010 novel of the same name by Vince Flynn. The film stars Dylan O'Brien, Michael Keaton, Sanaa Lathan, and Taylor Kitsch. The film follows Mitch Rapp (O'Brien), a young man who is recruited by the CIA after his girlfriend is killed in a terrorist attack. Rapp is trained by Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Keaton) and sent on a mission to stop a group of terrorists who are planning an attack on the United States.
