Sophie meets a handsome stranger and ends up having the most incredible night of her life... but, unfortunately, it's just a memory. She's actually having dinner at home with Jesse, Matt, Verner, and Robbie. She asks Matt to help her in the kitchen and tells him she's been fantasizing about the stranger, whose name is Andre Ford, and who just happens to be Robbie's father. What's more, she still has his card and has been dying to call him.

Matt warns her not to screw up things with Jesse. After all, he's perfect: He's handsome, sweet, sucessful, and, best of all, he loves Robbie. Besides, Andre's just a memory -- albeit a memory that won't die.

In a moment of desperation, Sophie asks Estelle if it's possible to love two people at the same time, seeing how her father loved both her and Judith before he died. Estelle explains that if Sophie's dad hadn't looked behind "Door Number 2," they would never have known such a great love. Instead of helping Sophie, Estelle just makes it harder for her to figure out what to do...

...and then Jesse makes it almost impossible. He tells Sophie he loves her, and in response Sophie says, er, she loves monkeys. Not exactly the reaction Jesse was hoping for.

Meanwhile, Matt risks running his relationship with Verner when he sleeps with Bernard, the waiter at Sophie's fave restaurant. Matt just couldn't resist looking behind up, they fly off to Switzerland to meet Verner's parents. (Guess sometimes looking behind "Door Number 2" can prove you love what's behind "Door Number 1" more than you thought.)

Just when Sophie's about to figure things out, Jesse says he knows her heart is divided between him and, er, Rick. (Huh?) Sophie can thank Judith for the confusion: Judith dragged Sophie's "Door Number 2" conundrum out of Estelle but thought the other "door" was Rick, not Robbie's mystery daddy. Jesse tells Sophie to call him when she gets over Rick and leaves.

The next day, Sophie comes to her senses. (She thanks.) She shreds Andre's card and invites Jesse over for dinner. But Estelle gets to Sophie's place before Jesse, and she convinces Sophie to go knock on -- or rather, call up -- "Door Number 2." Sophie dashes off to do some dumpster diving.

When she comes home, she finds Jesse, Estells, and Rick having a great time. Jesse tells Sophie he now knows that Rick has no claim on her heart. He smiles and says he loves her, and Sophie responds by bursting into tears. (ouch! Bad response Number 2.)

Sophie confesses to Jesse who she's really been fantasizing about. And he tells her that if she'd rather be with someone she spent 45 minutes with than the man (namely, Jesse) who's stuck around after suffering indignities at the hands of Judith, Rick, Estelle, Melissa, and even Puppy Baby, then... well you can guess what comes next. Jesse walks out.

Now that one door's seemingly closed, Sophie reaches for "Door Number 2." With Judith's help, she tapes Andre's card back together. She musters the courage, takes a deep breath, and calls him... only to hear a recording saying that the number is out of service.

The sound you hear is "Doot Number 2" slamming shut forever. Or has it?
