After a hard practice, Jason gets the bad news that he's not going to Beijing for the Paralympics. Suzie and Herc try and console him, but Jason hits back with ego-filled attitude. Later, Suzie offers Jason a ride back to Dillon and he accepts.

Julie learns that they're moving to Austin, and she refuses to go. Meanwhile, Jackie tells Tim that she didn't need help cleaning her rain gutters, but she does ask him to pick up Bo at school. When Tim arrives, he finds some older kids picking on Bo and warns them not to do it again.

Tami tries to help Tyra with her studies, but the young woman finds it unrealistic, especially the notion of going to college. Elsewhere, Waverly tells Smash that she's bipolar and was once in an outreach program. Smash is stunned and finds this information hard to digest. Buddy and Lyla pour over family photos together in his apartment as he admits how much he wants his family back.

Coach and Tami Taylor try and convince Julie while she'll love Austin and how it's a better fit for her since it's an "arty" town. She doesn't listen, refuses to go to the father-daughter dance, and storms from the room. At practice, Matt is off his game and Coach Taylor warns him to shape up or get benched.

Tami tells Angela that they can both help Tyra reach her full potential. But Angela gets defensive and says she doesn't need help to raise Tyra. That night, Tyra tries to do her schoolwork but her mom thinks they should get their nails done instead.

On their ride back home, Suzie suggests to Jason that he leave Dillon and take Lyla with her, but he can't imagine ever doing either. Suzie and Jason have a hear-to-heart about his engagement and Lyla's infidelity. He finds her easy to talk to and they soon start kissing.

After calling for two days, Lyla pins Jason down at his house as he's packing up all his trophies. He tells her he got a ride home from Suzie but "nothing happened." Lyla doesn't buy it and tells him it's not OK for him to cheat to make things even. Jason admits that he's not sure he wants to be engaged to her.

Jackie catches Tim giving Bo lessons on how to fight and berates at him for doing this. He tells her about what happened at Bo's school and that Bo needs to learn to protect himself. She then reluctantly agrees to let them finish the lesson. Before going inside, she invites Tim to watch "Back to the Future" with them that night.

Tami tutors Tyra at her place, and Tyra is enjoying the family dynamic of the Taylor household. But when Angela comes by to pick her up, she refuses to stay for dinner. Outside, Angela yells at her daughter about all the "ideas" Tami is implanting in her head about going to college.

Bo and Jackie fall asleep with their heads on Tim's shoulders. Jackie wakes up to catch Tim putting Bo to bed. In the doorway, he leans in to kiss her, but she yells for him to stop. He apologizes for misreading the situation and leaves.

Buddy makes an attempt to apologize to Pam. He presents her with a photo album he assembled of all their "good times." She flips through it and tells him to leave. Pam accuses Lyla of taking his side and tells her daughter that Buddy is a chronic liar who has been unfaithful for years. A devastated Lyla orders her father to leave.

Lyla gets in a car at Garrity Motors and rear ends just about every car in her father's lot. Tim, Matt, Smash, and Jason hang out together on the football field to talk about life and love. Matt worries about taking on their next team, and Jason steps up to give him some pointers and some confidence.

Outside the father-daughter dance, Coach Taylor has a heart-to-heart with Julie about Matt, being 15, and having her opinion count. She tells him that she's tired of moving around and for the first time in her life she feels like she's at home in Dillon.

Over dinner, Tyra yells at her mom for her attitude about the Taylors and for being dismissive of her going to college. Angela doesn't respond; instead, she gets up and leaves. In their car, Tyra tells her mom that she wants to try and go to college but that she needs her support.

Angela marches Tyra into the father-daughter dance to tell her that she's going to do her best to help her get into college and they share a dance together. Nearby, Coach Taylor dances with Julie.

As the sun comes up over the football field, Tim and Jason proclaim "Texas, forever" as they rebuild their friendship. Later, Tim apologizes to Jackie for making a pass at her, and she responds by taking his hand and leading him into her bedroom. Across town, Taylor tells the people at TMU that he and his family need some time to decide about their future.
