A few days ago I have been diagnosed with Triple Negative Stage 4 Breast Cancer that has moved to my lymph nodes to my liver. … I have a rough journey ahead of me. I appreciate everyone's messages and calls," she wrote.

Throughout her battle, Lizzy kept her followers updated, openly sharing her highs and lows. In June 2023, she posted a bold picture showing her shaved head after extreme hair loss from chemotherapy. "Here is the new me. Some days are tough to look in the mirror, but there are days where I feel stronger than ever," Lizzy's caption read.

Despite her illness, Lizzy continued to display incredible fortitude. She expressed immense gratitude for the support she received and her ability to continue racing. "I'll sit in treatment rooms, getting this chemo done, and here I am a couple of days later in a race car. It feels like the biggest accomplishment ever," she said in an August 2023 interview with Drag Illustrated after winning the "Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings" invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
