After a decade of pining for a role, the Black Widow depicter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has finally joined the 'Jurassic World' franchise, bringing her boundless excitement to the upcoming film.

AceShowbiz - Scarlett Johansson, best known for her role as Natasha Romanoff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has confirmed she'll be starring in the upcoming "Jurassic World" movie. This new installment, unofficially dubbed "Jurassic World 4", will mark a fresh chapter for the franchise with an entirely new storyline.

Johansson's involvement comes after years of expressed enthusiasm for the series. "I'm an enormous 'Jurassic Park' fan. It's one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater," she shared with ComicBook.com. "It was like life-changing. It was mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am."

The 39-year-old actress recently signed on to the untitled project, set for release on July 2, 2025. The movie is fast-tracked by Universal Pictures and brings back David Koepp, the original screenwriter of the 1993 "Jurassic Park" and its 1997 sequel. "The script is so incredible. David Koepp wrote it. He returned after like 30 years to write the script. He's so passionate about it, which is so awesome," Johansson remarked.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for "Godzilla" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", the film has captured the excitement of both fans and its cast. Edwards recalled that when the project came along, he couldn't resist diving in. "I was about to take a break and I started writing my next idea for a film and this is the only movie that would make me drop everything like a stone and dive right in," he said.

Production is currently under way with shoots planned in Thailand, Malta and London. Johansson will be joined by a dynamic cast including Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, David Iacono and Luna Blaise. While there are rumors of Chris Pratt's return, nothing is confirmed yet.

Previously starring in "Jurassic World Dominion", Bryce Dallas Howard offered advice to maintain the franchise's appeal, especially for younger audiences. As she moves on, Johansson steps in, calling her casting "actually unbelievable" and a perfect fit for her next franchise endeavor. "I've been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over 10 years. I'll die in the first five minutes! I can get eaten by whatever! I'll do the craft service!" she joked.

As fans eagerly await more details, Johansson continues to work on other projects like the upcoming "Fly Me to the Moon", and the animated feature "Transformers One", where she reunites with MCU co-star Chris Hemsworth.
