The devastating incident occurred just two days after the artist celebrated his 26th birthday. According to his lawyer, Lewis Fusco, Jones was staying at a Holiday Inn hotel in Tampa when he was ambushed.

Jones, who initially stayed at an Airbnb to host a pool party with friends and fans, was forced to leave the location due to overcrowding. "Yes, I have been his attorney for many years. He was shot and killed in Tampa. I cannot make any statements at this time other than confirming he was killed outside of a Holiday Inn hotel while celebrating his birthday in Tampa this weekend," Fusco stated.

Surveillance footage from the hotel is being reviewed while no suspects have been arrested as of Sunday afternoon. Jones' lawyer emphasized that details are still emerging and requested respect for Mr. Jones and his family during this difficult time.
