When coming clean with his recent health issues, the Barstool Sports founder confirms that he got skin cancer from 'laying in the sun all day' without sunscreen.

AceShowbiz - Dave Portnoy revealed that he recently "beat" cancer. Thankful that it wasn't a serious one, the Barstool Sports founder expressed his gratitude via social media.
"I did have cancer. I beat it. It wasn't the serious kind thank god," the 47-year-old wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "I can't tell if Bosco thinks cancer is funny or not."
Dave first came clean about his latest health issue in on "The BFFs Pod". When his podcast co-host Brianna LaPaglia asked, "Do you have a scratch on your neck? Like a cut?" he replied, "Yeah, you're the first person to ask."
"Is that stitches?" Brianna further questioned. Dave then answered, "Yeah, cancer. I beat it, though." He went on to confirm that he got skin cancer from "laying in the sun all day" without sunscreen.
Brianna later pressed, "It was actually cancer?" To the inquiry, the businessman explained, "It's not scary. I mean, it is, but it's not. I add it to my list. I've had a heart attack, cancer, and stung by bees - beat it all."
Dave continued to share that he had a mole and "went to a doctor, did a skin thing, and they scrape it, and one of them came back as cancerous." He added, "There's really obviously serious cancer. Mine wasn't. But I have the right to say I am a cancer survivor now."
Dave claimed that he had actually been trying to get people to notice the scar. "I've been trying to shove it in people's faces," he said, before noting that he eventually kept the operations to himself.
"I didn't even tell anyone I was doing it. It was all part of my master plan," he dished. "God forbid the [Boston] Celtics lost last night, I was going to be like 'I have cancer. I don't want to talk about it.' But they won."
