The 'All Too Well' hitmaker and the 'I Know It Won't Work' singer had a shocking incident that happened after co-writing their collaborative track at the former's apartment.

AceShowbiz - Gracie Abrams has revealed one shocking incident that happened shortly after creating music with Taylor Swift. The "I Know It Won't Work" singer also said that the incident caused her and the "All Too Well" hitmaker to have an "insane cough" for weeks.

In a new interview published on Tuesday, June 18, the 24-year-old singer/songwriter opened up about her experience writing her and Taylor's collaborative song titled "Us" together. Speaking to Billboard, she recalled that "her childhood hero" worked "fearlessly to save them from danger" when they were at Taylor's apartment in New York City.

Gracie explained that she and Taylor heard a candle fall over, causing fire to nearly "consume [the former's] center island." While Gracie thought it may be her fault, she revealed that Taylor assured her "it was probably one of her cats thumping around." The fire finally went out "well past 6 A.M." after they treated themselves to "dinner and drinks."

"She was such a legend, I don't know how at this hour or in our state she knew what to do," Gracie told the media outlet during a virtual chat via Zoom. She further shared, "We both had an insane cough from the fire extinguisher fumes for weeks."

During the interview, Gracie said that she and Taylor were co-writing their joint track "Us" prior to the incident. They spent the night "previewing songs" from Gracie's new record and the 34-year-old superstar's latest album titled "The Tortured Poets Department".

After that, the two artists "started listening to instrumentals made by their mutual collaborator and friend Aaron Dessner." Gracie then recounted, "Something caught our ear at the same time very hard and fast. So we ran to the piano and started writing this song ... I used to fantasize about that kind of a thing as a kid."

Gracie and Taylor recorded "Us" with Aaron, who had a good time working with the two. The 48-year-old founder of The National gushed, "It was just really fun to watch the chemistry of Gracie and Taylor bouncing off each other, Gracie in total wonder and awe watching how Taylor records and produces her vocal performances and builds the world."
