Amidst career challenges and personal struggles, the former host of 'GMA3' and his former co-anchor found solace in each other, transforming their lives and forging an unbreakable bond.

AceShowbiz - When T.J. Holmes joined "GMA3" in September 2023, it seemed like the pinnacle of his career. However, behind the scenes, the former television personality was grappling with a severe mental health crisis.

As detailed on the "Amy & T.J." podcast, which was filmed live in New York City on June 10, the 46-year-old former "GMA3" host opened up about his struggles with alcohol, depression and suicidal thoughts. Holmes revealed the depths of his despair, sharing that he had even slept on a street bench in Manhattan. "I didn't realize how bad off I was," he said. "I would walk back and forth in the middle of the night because I didn't want to go home."

During this dark period, it was his "GMA3" co-anchor Amy Robach who saw his pain and reached out to help. By introducing Holmes to running, she provided him a lifeline. "She wouldn't let me slide on anything," Holmes said. "I credit her for literally helping save my life." Robach, 51, humbly deflected the praise towards Holmes's own resilience, affirming, "You saved your life."

Their bond strengthened as they worked long hours together, starting at 5 A.M. and ending their days well past 11 P.M. They eventually began dating publicly in November 2022, and both finalized their respective divorces shortly thereafter. Despite the initial media scrutiny, the couple launched their podcast "Amy & T.J.", where they discussed their relationship and several personal topics. They candidly addressed the "communication kinks" in their relationship, highlighting their genuine connection and willingness to support each other.
