Supermodel Naomi Campbell finally addresses rumors about her motherhood, reveals her views on being a single parent, and shares her hopes for future generations.

AceShowbiz - Naomi Campbell, the iconic supermodel, stunned the world when she announced the birth of her first child in 2021, at the age of 50. The arrival of her daughter was a well-kept secret until Naomi posed with her newborn on the cover of Vogue. Two years later, in 2023, Naomi welcomed her second child, a son, once again maintaining her preference for privacy by not disclosing her children's names.

In a candid interview with The Times, Naomi, who previously said her kids were not adopted, finally confirmed rumors of surrogacy, "I did. I hope for a better world for my children. They are 110 per cent my priority. I have to be there for them on their first day at school." She also said, "My babies are everything to me. It's made me fear for the future."

Naomi, now 54, who has had a string of high-profile relationships, expressed contentment in her role as a single mother, emphasizing she was never searching for a father for her children. Reflecting on this, she said, "I'm strong, but I'm also sensitive. I know that in relationships I have to compromise."

Her thoughts extended beyond her personal life to concerns about younger generations' views on parenthood. Naomi noted that many young people today find the idea of having children economically daunting. However, she passionately believes in the value of parenthood, saying, "I have heard a lot of young girls saying that it is too expensive to have children and they may not want them, and I have said, 'You will change your mind. You will want to be a mum'."

Despite the challenges, Naomi holds a firm belief that parenting is "worth it" and reflected on her own upbringing, crediting her mother for making it work with limited resources. She exhorted, "We have to depend on the younger generation to change this world. I trust my children more than us to do the right thing."

Her dedication as a mother was evident when she shared experiences of raising her daughter. Naomi recounted an amusing yet telling moment where her daughter demanded "privacy" at a party, to which Naomi promptly responded, "Not to your mama. You can do that to everybody else, but to me!"

Naomi was also very protective of her daughter when talking about her reluctance to let the girl work at a young age, "I'm not sure I would let her start working at 15. It's a ruthless world."

Naomi Campbell's journey into motherhood later in life, her views on being a single parent, and her advocacy for the value of parenthood provide a poignant narrative. As she herself put it, "It's never too late to become a mother."
