Making use of his social media page, the 'Home Alone' star shares a candid reflection on his complicated relationship with Father's Day in a heartfelt new post.

AceShowbiz - Macaulay Culkin's journey from a tumultuous childhood to finding joy in fatherhood is a testament to his resilience and growth. The "Home Alone" star shared a candid reflection on his complicated relationship with Father's Day in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Macaulay, who is now a proud father to two sons with his fiancee Brenda Song, Dakota, 3, and a one-year-old boy, has faced numerous challenges throughout his life, especially stemming from his relationship with his father, Kit Culkin. He openly discussed his estranged relationship with his father, citing years of physical and emotional abuse. "If you know a little about me then you'd know I've had a complicated relationship with Father's Day in the past," he expressed.

However, fatherhood has allowed Macaulay to create new memories and traditions. Desiring to shift the narrative around Father's Day, he decided to focus less on himself and more on his children. "Since becoming a papa myself I've decided to reinvent the wheel. Other than getting an hour or two of extra sleep I try to make the day a celebration of my boys more than me. After all, they are the ones who made me a father (no offense to Brenda)," he wrote.

In his post, Macaulay humorously mentioned how Father's Day ranks in his household. "In our house Father's Day isn't held in as high regard as birthdays or Christmas but it does mop the floor of such holidays as St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day, and the 4th of July." His priority is ensuring his sons have fun and feel celebrated on this special day.

Reflecting on his past, Macaulay mentioned how his father's behavior shaped his own approach to parenting. Despite the difficulties, he found a silver lining, using his experiences to become a better father himself. "I knew from a very early age that I better take notes on him. Notes on how not to be, notes on how I don't want to be when I grow up," he shared in a previous interview.
