AceShowbiz - Despite the show ending in 2021, William H. Macy remains in touch with the cast, who he considers his "Ersatz kids." He expressed pride in their accomplishments, saying, "They're all doing really well, which is great."
Macy admitted to struggling initially on "Shameless" but eventually found his groove and improved his acting significantly. He recalled his time on the show fondly, describing it as something he "loved."
Macy is particularly proud of Jeremy Allen White, who played Lip Gallagher on "Shameless". He praised White's success on "The Bear" and his recent Calvin Klein underwear campaign, saying, "He's got a huge career. I'm really proud of him."
Macy jokingly told White to "put your pants on" after seeing his billboards in New York, referencing their shared history on "Shameless". He also noted that White had his "pants off a good amount" on that show.
