The 'Wednesday' actress calls for humanity after children were 'slaughtered' in Rafah attacks, months after her 'Scream' co-star Melissa Barrera was fired from the franchise over her pro-Palestine posts.

AceShowbiz - Jenna Ortega has made use of her platform to reveal her stance on the Israel-Hamas war. The actress has finally spoken up in support of Palestine, months after her "Scream" co-star Melissa Barrera was fired from the franchise over her pro-Palestine posts.

On Tuesday, May 28, the 21-year-old made use of her Instagram page to voice her support for Palestine amid the ongoing war with Israel. In her post, she shared a picture of children sitting on a field of flowers.

In the caption, the "Wednesday" star called for "humanity" after airstrikes hit Rafah and reportedly killed at least 45 people. "Masses debating over a ceasefire while thousands upon thousands of children continue being slaughtered," she wrote. "Where is the humanity."

Ortega has since received praises from her followers and other Instagram users for speaking out. "Seeing you not afraid to keep talking about this is truly inspiring, thank you, Jenna," one fan commented on her post.

Another penned, "I'm proud of you." A third fan reacted, "Thank uu jenna for always speaking up do u." Similarly, a fourth said, "thank you for using your platform to spread awareness and for inspiring all of us to do the same!!!" Additionally, Tommy Dorfman left a heart emoji.

Ortega showed her support for Palestine six months after Barrera was dropped from "Scream VII" or "Scream 7" for her pro-Palestine posts. Shorlt after Barrera's firing, it was confirmed that Ortega would not return for "Scream 7" either.

It was reported that Ortega's exit had nothing to do with Barrera's firing. According to Deadline, the actress dropped out of the movie due to a scheduling conflict with the second season of her Netflix series "Wednesday". She allegedly had discussed her exit from "Scream 7" before the actors strike began.

However, Ortega later showed her support for Barrera by liking celebrities4palestine's post that read, "Melissa Barrera Stands Her Ground After Being Dropped From Scream For Speaking Up For Palestine."

Barrera herself has acknowledged Ortega's support for her, saying in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in March, "We chatted for a while, and I love her so much. She's been very supportive of me, and we're sisters for life."
