The law enforcement officials turn to public to ask for tips in regards to the suspects in the tragic killing of the 'General Hospital' actor while his loved ones are mourning his passing.

AceShowbiz - The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has launched a public appeal for information regarding the shooting death of Johnny Wactor, who portrayed Brando Corbin in the daytime soap opera "General Hospital".

According to witness statements, Wactor had finished his shift as a bartender and was escorting a female co-worker to her car when he encountered three individuals attempting to steal his catalytic converter. The suspects, dressed in dark clothing and driving a dark sedan, opened fire on Wactor without provocation, as stated by the LAPD. The incident took place at around 3:25 A.M. on May 25 in the 1200 block of Hope Street downtown.

Family members, still reeling from the loss, spoke out on "Good Morning America", offering their own account of the incident. "They took a wonderful person," Wactor's mother, Scarlett, said.

Scarlett explained that her son mistook the thieves for a tow truck. Upon realizing the threat, he shielded his co-worker, positioning himself between her and the armed suspects. She described her son as a hero, grateful that his co-worker was unharmed despite the tragedy. "I'm thankful that person is okay - and that when he died, he wasn't alone," she added.

His brother, Lance, lamented the loss of his best friend while Grant shared the family's profound sense of emptiness.

Ex-fiancee Tessa Farrell expressed her grief and frustration in an emotional Instagram video, addressing both the perpetrator and the public. "If you, the person who did this, if you're watching, I'm sorry, but you shot the wrong guy," Farrell tearfully stated.

Urging unity and communal support, she continued, "We gotta support each other and come together. Maybe that's what Johnny's gift is for us, maybe he's gifting that to all of us because he was full of gifts."

Farrell also paid a heartfelt tribute to Wactor, acknowledging his positive influence on her life and career. "Johnny, if you're watching from above, I love you very much and I'm very proud of you for the person you've become and the obstacles you've overcame. And you've forever inspired me in my work and what I do..."

The LAPD urges anyone with information regarding the case to contact Detectives Gonzales or Martinez at Central Bureau Homicide. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to the LA Regional Crime Stoppers.
