A bizarre view of 'monkeys' riding horses at Los Angeles' famed beach is captured in a video by an onlooker as the marketing team behind the upcoming sci-fi film sends them to hype up the May 10 release.

AceShowbiz - "Monkeys" invade Los Angeles in the latest exceptional effort to promote a movie. Ahead of the release of "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes", "apes" are hitting the Venice Beach to promote the upcoming sci-fi flick.
The bizarre view of apes riding horses was captured on camera by an onlooker at L.A.'s famed beach on Monday, April 22. In the video shared by a TikTok user, actors in furry costume looked pretty convincing at a glance as they were on horseback.
The actors gave it all for the roles, giving intense, menacing stares to make their presence felt as visitors passed them by. They also greeted some of the visitors by making hand gestures. Seemingly to keep it safe, these actors did not put the horses into a full gallop, opting for a slower stroll around the beach while several cameras were seen filming them.
20th Century Studios, which holds the distribution rights of the movie, has not issued a statement on the idea behind the outstanding marketing effort, but the ape invasion certainly got people's attention about the upcoming film.
Social media users, meanwhile, loved the marketing stunt, with one raving, "Now thatsssss good promo love the suits on point." Another exclaimed, "That pretty sick," as another said it's "so dope."
"Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" is the fourth installment in the "Planet of the Apes" reboot franchise. Directed by Wes Ball, it stars Owen Teague in the lead role alongside Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon and William H. Macy.
It is set nearly 300 years after the events of "War for the Planet of the Apes" (2017), when ape civilizations have emerged from the oasis to which Caesar led his fellow apes, while humans have regressed into a feral, primitive state. When the ape king Proximus Caesar, armed with weapons forged from lost human technologies, perverts Caesar's teachings to enslave other clans, the chimpanzee hunter Noa embarks on a harrowing journey alongside a human girl named Mae to determine the future for apes and humans alike.
The movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 10.
