The 'Shake It Off' hitmaker and the Super Bowl LVIII winner both bag an award each from the 49th annual ceremony as they are among winners in pop culture categories.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are matching with their 2024 People's Choice Awards wins. Despite not attending the ceremony which took place on Sunday, February 18, the lovebirds were voted as fan favorites at the show.
The "Look What You Made Me Do" songstress, who just resumed her "Eras Tour", bagged a PCA trophy for The Social Celebrity of the Year. Thanks to Swifties' votes, she defeated Britney Spears, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj as well as her own bestie Selena Gomez.
Travis, meanwhile, was named The Athlete of the Year after his team won the Super Bowl LVIII last week. He edged out other athletes in the category such as LeBron James, Lionel Messi, Simone Biles and Stephen Curry.
Another award in the pop culture category, The Comedy Act of the Year, went to Chris Rock for his Netflix special "Selective Outrage". Meanwhile, Adam Sandler was honored with People's Icon Award.
When accepting the award that was presented by his friend Jennifer Aniston, Adam joked about mistaking the award for PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive title. Because of this "miscommunication," he said he had prepared a speech for that honor instead.
"My name is Adam Sandler and I am the sexiest man alive, can I get a hell yeah?" he began. "To the PEOPLE Magazine's academy members of hotness and sexual attractiveness I would like to say thank you for recognizing me as the man who made our entire country the horniest this year and was by far the most-talked-about person in the bedroom by couples or throuples during fantasy role plays and sloppy time. Can I get another hell yeah?"
"I am trying to be gracious, PEOPLE Magazine, but I have to admit three words keep popping into my head right now: 'It's about freaking time!' " the 57-year-old, who was also nominated for The Comedy Movie Star of the Year at the PCAs, added. "For decades, Adam Sandler has been waiting patiently on the sexy bench."
The 49th annual People's Choice Awards aired live on Sunday on NBC and E! and was available to stream on Peacock. It was held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California and hosted by "Barbie" star Simu Liu. The show also presented awards for fan favorites in the movie, music and TV categories.
