The fantasy comedy film wins five out if its eight nominations, including best actor for Ryan Gosling and best actress for Margot Robbie, while 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' bags two trophies.

AceShowbiz - "Barbie" has become the biggest movie winner at the 49th annual People's Choice Awards. Landing the most nominations with eight, the fantasy comedy movie almost swept the awards as it won half of the movie kudos presented at the ceremony, which was held on Sunday, February 18.
The Greta Gerwig-directed pic bagged the coveted The Movie of the Year prize and was voted as The Comedy Movie of the Year. It bested "Fast X", "The Little Mermaid (2023)", "Oppenheimer" and "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" among other nominees in the former category.
The movie's cast members Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera also earned an award each. The Barbie depicter was named The Female Movie Star of the Year. The Ken depicter was chosen as The Male Movie Star of the Year, and Ferrera won The Movie Performance of the Year for her portrayal as a Mattel employee named Gloria.
"The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" also bagged multiple prizes from the show. The spin-off to Jennifer Lawrence-led "The Hunger Games" film series was voted as The Action Movie of the Year, while its lead Rachel Zegler was named The Action Movie Star of the Year.
Other winners in the movie field were "Oppenheimer" as The Drama Movie of the Year, Jenna Ortega, who won The Drama Movie Star of the Year for her role in "Scream VI", and Jennifer Lawrence as The Comedy Movie Star of the Year for her performance in raunchy comedy "No Hard Feelings".
The 2024 People's Choice Awards aired live on Sunday on NBC and E! and was available to stream on Peacock. It was held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California and hosted by "Barbie" star Simu Liu.
The show also presented awards for fan favorites in the music, TV and pop culture categories.
