Cori Broadus gave updates after she's hospitalized due to a 'severe stroke.'

Cori first revealed her medical emergency on Thursday. "I had a severe stroke this am," she wrote, adding two teary-eyed emojis. "I started breaking down crying when they told me." In a separate post, Cori lamented, "Like I'm only 24." She went on to question, "What did I do in my past to deserve all of this."

Cori's latest hospitalization came less than a year since she underwent surgery where a small piece of kidney tissue was removed to analyze any abnormalities. "Just got off the phone w my rheumatologist, and these are the results from the biopsy," she penned in February 2023. "3 is mild but still active. I would've had to take chemotherapy if I was at 4," she explained.

While doctors recommended she start Benlysta treatment, consisting of a shot once a month or by injection every week, the singer seemed to have been assured that her condition was still at a reversible stage.

In September 2022, Cori disclosed that she was diagnosed with lupus when she was just 6 years old. "So my immune system is super weak. I [have] experienced hair loss, so my mom came home one day with a bunch of scarves, and we were playing in scarves and just trying them [in] different ways," she said.

In an interview with PEOPLE issued in September 2023, however, Cori revealed that she had stopped taking her lupus medication and opted for a more holistic approach. "I'm just doing everything natural, all types of herbs, sea moss, teas. I started working out, drinking lots of water. So now I think my body's like, OK, this is the new program and she's getting used to it," she said.

"I've had medication since I was 6 years old, depending on these drugs all my life. So I wanted better for myself," she shared. "I wanted to change because it just became a lot. I'm only 24 years old, taking 10 to 12 pills every single day. So I kind of just went cold Turkey." She went on assuring at the time that she was "better than [she's] ever been" since going "all natural."
