AceShowbiz - Dua Lipa has revealed that her iconic dress, which she rocked at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, came with a struggle that other people might not know. During the star-studded event, the "Break My Heart" singer struggled to sit down due to the gown.
On Tuesday, January 9, the 28-year-old joked about the 81st annual event, which took place at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles a few days prior, not providing attendees a "reclining chair" on her Instagram page. In the caption of her new post, she hilariously penned, "Thank you @goldenglobes for such a beautiful night last night - the only thing missing was a reclining chair."
In the same post, Dua uploaded a video from the Sunday night, January 7 show. The clip documented her attempting to sit on a gold chair that had a 90 degree angle. In the footage, it could be seen that she was struggling to sit up straight.
Once she was able to sit down, the "One Kiss" hitmaker seemingly tried to look normal despite appearing uncomfortable. Near the end of the video, she pouted her lips to the camera before flashing her radiant smile and looking in another direction.
Dua additionally released a series of photos highlighting her outfit at the event. In the snaps, she looked stunning in a figure-hugging black mermaid style gown from Schiaparelli. The dress came with an off-the-shoulder design and had gold embellishments on its front as well as back sides. Its lower part, which was long enough to cover her shoes and feet, was made out of different material that flared out.
To match the skeleton-like embellishments, the "New Rules" hitmaker accessorized herself with a gold necklace from Tiffany & Co. The sparkling jewelry piece featured shimmering clear diamonds all over it and two huge dark yellow stones at the end. Aside from the necklace, she added several silver ear pieces and a matching ring.
After sharing the photos, Dua quickly received online responses from Instagram users. In the comments section of the post, one in particular joked, "When you wear your standing dress to a sit down event." Meanwhile, another asked, "I don't understand why need to were so uncomfortable dresses like this?"
