The singer, who filed for divorce from the athlete months before she confirmed their separation in September 2023, argues that her ex 'consistently demonstrates a clear disregard for the safety of the minor children.'

AceShowbiz - Teyana Taylor has brought new allegations against Iman Shumpert amid their divorce. In new legal docs, the "Dark Fantasy" singer claimed her estranged husband smoked weed around their young kids and was even under the influence when he was with them.

According to the docs obtained by TMZ, the 33-year-old claimed her ex "consistently fails to properly care" for their two children, eight-year-old Junie and three-year-old Rue. She also said that the athlete failed to feed them despite being in the family home.

Teyana argued that Iman "consistently demonstrates a clear disregard for the safety of the minor children." One of the examples was when Iman put their daughters in a rideshare in Chicago and had them dropped off at the United Center alone. Meanwhile, the basketball player allegedly had a private driver take him to the venue.

Teyana filed for divorce from Iman months before she confirmed their separation in September 2023. According to TMZ, the multi-talented star submitted the divorce papers in Georgia in January last year.

In the docs, the artist accused her former spouse of "extreme narcissistic behavior" and being jealous of her fame. She said her ex would feel insecure about being good enough for her, although he was earning way more playing basketball than she could ever dream of making in music.

Teyana noted that when Iman signed a $40 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015 and was paid $8 million by the New York Knicks, he remained aggravated by her notoriety and jealous of her acting career. The athlete allegedly would grow annoyed when they attended public events together and photographers asked for him to step out of frame.

Iman himself has issued a statement through his lawyer regarding the divorce. Stephen C. Steele shared the statement with TMZ, "Mr. Shumpert hopes parties and counsel can work toward a fair resolution, keeping the best interests of the children of paramount concern."
