AceShowbiz - Teyana Taylor appeared to have put smiles on her fans' faces with her new social media post. A few years after announcing that she is retiring from the music industry, the "How You Want It?" singer, who filed for divorce from Iman Shumpert in January 2023, seemingly teased her new music project.

On Wednesday, January 3, the 33-year-old artist made use of Instagram Story to upload a never-before-seen video featuring a snippet of what could be her new track. In the clip, she filmed herself singing along to the unreleased song while sitting in her car. Over the footage, she added a female chef emoji, seemingly hinting that she is in the process of creating the project.

The video was later reposted via Instagram by several blogs. It did not take long for the posts to be flooded with online responses from Instagram users. In the comments sections, one in particular voiced their excitement, "This is so beautiful! Alright fam when she drops we really gotta show out for talent. We keep blowing up folk no where near as talented as this! Then the dope ones feel unappreciated because they are. Teyana is criminally underrated."

Meanwhile, another suggested, "She cant help but make music she was just a lil salty that the last music/album that she did put out wasn't as big as she thought it should have been, but it was still good as f**k and those who f**k with her know and those who dont dont."

A third showed their support to Teyana by writing, "Girl we the ppl want you to make some bops and dance.. the mid temps are good but we want TEYANA to show tf out!!!!" In the meantime, a fourth wrote, "Love Teyana downnnnnnnnn but her music never altered the music industry or made huge impact for her to retire."

A few years prior, Teyana hinted at her retirement after failing to receive a single nomination for the 2021 Grammy Awards. In December 2020, she expressed feeling "super under appreciated as [an] artist" and wrote, "I'm retiring this chapter of my story with the comfort that i can depart with peace of mind seeing that all the hard work & passion put in was indeed loved & supported somewhere in the world (sic)!"

Later on, Teyana clarified her statement. "I'm not quitting, I'm leveling up," she declared via social media. In September 2021, she announced her "last" tour, "The Last Rose Petal Farewell Tour", in 12 major cities across the United States and Canada.
