AceShowbiz - Jamie Lynn Spears faced backlash for apparently refusing to mention her sister Britney Spears in the latest episode of "I'm a Celebrity". In one scene of the show, the actress could be seen having a rather awkward conversation with Josie Gibson.
It started after "This Morning" presenter asked Jamie Lynn about her music career. "Who got you into music then?" Josie asked, to which Jamie Lynn replied, "I've always kind of been into music, you know what I mean?"
Josie, however, continued trying to make her co-star name her famous sister as she added, "Very musical family, aren't you?" As the "Sweet Magnolias" actress only replied with a simple "yeah," Josie kept pressing her.
"Was your grandma into it?" she questioned the "Zoey 101" alum who responded, "My mom played the piano a lot." Josie eventually gave up as Jamie Lynn appeared to be so dead set about not mentioning the "...Oops! I Did It Again" hitmaker.
Upon watching the episode, fans quickly criticized Jamie Lynn. "Not jamie lynn acting as if britney doesn't exist #ImACeleb," one fan wrote on social media. "LOL JAMIE WHY ARE YOU LYING," someone else commented.
That aside, Jamie Lynn was also slammed for not taking part in media interviews. "It is disappointing Jamie Lynn wouldn't speak to journalists out in Australia," a source told The Mirror. "She kept her head down at Brisbane airport which is fair enough after a long flight, but it is highly unusual to not take part in the media chats whilst waiting to go into camp this week."
The source continued, "In fact, it is almost unprecedented and even Boy George took part last year when he has rarely done interviews for a decade. The last contestant we can remember to refuse to do the pre-show interviews was David Gest, and that was back in 2006. It is not a great sign if you are hoping Jamie Lynn is going to be hugely talkative on the show and give up lots of goss about Britney. Hopefully, she finds her voice in camp."
