The 33-year-old son of Hollywood star Tom Hanks reportedly stops an attempted robbery, punching a 42-year-old man who tries to break into his home in Los Angeles.

AceShowbiz - Chet Hanks stopped an attempted burglary at his house in Los Angeles. The son of actor Tom Hanks reportedly punched a 42-year-old man who tried to break into his home at around 3 A.M. on Monday, November 6.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that after L.A. County Sheriff's deputies arrived on scene, police tried to slap cuffs on the suspect. As he kept fighting, the authorities decided to subdue him so he could get cuffed.

Things further got chaotic when the man fell backward onto one of the deputies when he was led to the car. The incident allegedly left both the suspect and the deputy with a broken leg and they were taken to hospital for treatment. Chet, meanwhile, was thankfully not injured.

After the doctor gave him all clear to be released, the individual was charged with burglary. The case will be forwarded to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office for filing considerations.

"In the commission of the burglary, Victim Hanks had to defend himself against the suspect and was able to subdue him until department personnel arrived on scene. The suspect was handcuffed and arrested at the location. While escorting the suspect to the patrol vehicle, a deputy did sustain an injury to his leg," the police shared in a statement.

It continued, "The suspect and the deputy were transported to the local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. After the suspect's treatment, he was transported and booked at Marina Del Rey Station for burglary and other violations are still being investigated. This is an on-going investigation, and the department is not in the position to provide further information at this moment."

Chet is no stranger to making headlines. He previously was feuding with comedian Eric Andre, who called him out for his "dangerous" behavior while they worked together for "The Eric Andre Show". "Chet Hanks, on the other hand, was a tough cookie. He broke our crew. It felt like 'Rust'," Eric explained in an interview with Rolling Stone, referring to Alec Baldwin's movie that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. "He broke us down."

"He is… emotionally disturbed. He stole a motorcycle and rode it around. He almost knocked a bunch of grips and gaffers off their ladders," the "Bad Trip" star recalled. "It was very dangerous. He tried to prank us back, but we edited out all his bulls**t!"

He continued. "He's not well. How did Colin Hanks come out so good and Chet Hanks come out so bad?" In response to the allegations, Chet accused Eric of lying, calling him a "f**king liar" and a "p***y."
