AceShowbiz - Kid Cudi has lashed out at "lame" critics. Having had his sexuality questioned online, the "Pursuit of Happiness" rapper went public with how he really felt over the negative comments.
On Saturday morning, July 22, the 39-year-old made use of Twitter to express his thoughts on the speculations of him being gay. "It's more the ignorence, I'm not insulted," he first tweeted. "It's just sad to see people so lame, it's sad someone, a man, can't show joy without there being some conversation about their sexually."
On the reason why he spoke up, the one-half of The Scotts reasoned, "People been callin me gay for years, it is what it is, it just never reached this level of f**kery until now." He was replying to a tweet by a fan that read, "I'm sorry it got to you, Cudi. I'm sad you think it's a diss."
One day before, Cudi got candid on how he felt after people questioned his sexuality for sharing a photo of himself smiling. In a July 21 tweet, he stated, "U know what's crazy, and really makes me question the world we live in, is when I post a picture of me smiling on ig and there's mad comments questioning my sexuality floodin my page w insults."
Cudi went on to write, "I feel really bad for yall man. It's sad out here. Man cant even smile and be happy no more. Smh." In a tweet that followed, he further explained, "It's like, 'oh he smiling TOO hard!! He DEF sucks a dick!' Its like word?? That's what we on now??" He bluntly added in a third tweet, "Homophobic and sad and will be miserable their whole lives."
In a separate tweet, the "Trapped in My Mind" rapper recalled how his father viewed someone "being silly." He penned, "When I was a lil boy, my dad was super militant. He never liked us playin around most of the time. He was very strict. It's almost like being silly was a sign of weakness to him. I vowed when I was young to never let anyone, not even my father, dim my light."
