AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle appeared to defy the "no dogs allowed" police at Farmers' Market in Montecito. The Duchess of Sussex paid a visit to the outdoor marketplace with one of her beloved beagles over the weekend.
The 41-year-old was pictured picking up flowers at the outdoor shop on Friday, July 14. For the outing, Meghan opted for a casual look in an unbuttoned white blouse that she paired with a beige maxi dress. She styled her hair in a low bun as she completed her look with gold jewelry, black flip-flops, dark sunglasses and a large straw tote bag.
She was joined by a bodyguard, who watched her puppy when the wife of Prince Harry sampled honey and looked around the market. It was reported that signs at the event read "no dogs allowed," though it's unclear if Meghan's beagle entered the market itself or remained on the outskirts.
It marked the former "Suits" actress' first public appearance since her and Prince Harry's Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan" was snubbed from the 2023 Emmy Awards nomination despite being watched more than 81.6 million hours. Royal expert Ingrid Seward claimed that the Sussexes were "devastated" by the snub. "But of course [the couple] will not show it," the editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine added.
"In the series, Harry and Meghan talk about the royal family as if they were the enemy, while they themselves are trying to save the world," Ingrid added. "The series is an intimate look at 'hardships' they faced in their honey-colored, rose-tinted world. Meghan and Harry will concentrate in this and make it a positive, however irritated they might be not to be in the Emmy nominations."
Despite the Emmys snub, Harry and Meghan's docuseries scored a nomination at the upcoming Hollywood Critics Awards (HCA). The couple's bombshell six-part series is vying for Best Streaming Nonfiction Series at the Los Angeles bash on August 13, joining fellow nominees "Prehistoric Planet 2", "Rainn Wilson and the Geography of Bliss", "Rennervations", "The 1619 Project" and "The Reluctant Traveller with Eugene Levy".
