Shortly after being reported to have welcomed his first child with the professional tennis player, the 'Have Mercy' spitter shares with concertgoers the moniker they picked for their baby.

AceShowbiz - Cordae (YBN Cordae) has unveiled the name he and Naomi Osaka chose for their newborn daughter at an unexpected place. A few days after being reported to have welcomed his first child with the professional tennis player, the 25-year-old rapper surprised his concertgoers with the moniker revelation.

The "Have Mercy" rapper was performing at the Calgary Stampede in Canada over the weekend when he publicly announced, "My daughter Shai was just born a couple days ago, so I dedicate this performance to my baby girl Shai." He went on to say, "Love you, I'm going back home."

Cordae's revelation came less than two days after he and Naomi were reported to have welcomed their baby. On Tuesday, July 11, PEOPLE noted that a source had confirmed the arrival of the couple's baby in Los Angeles. While no detail regarding the birth itself was shared, the source assured that Naomi and her newborn "are doing well."

Naomi announced that she and Cordae were expecting a baby together in mid-January. At the time, she made use of Instagram to post an ultrasound photo and several notes written in English and Japanese languages. Along with them, she wrote in the caption, "Can't wait to get back on the court but here's a little life update for 2023."

In the note itself, the four-time Grand Slam singles champion penned, "The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find that it's the most challenging times in life that may be the most fun. These few months away from the sport has really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I've dedicated my life to."

"I realize that life is so short and I don't take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure," she further stated. "I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I'm looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, 'that's my mom,' haha."
