Revealing the exciting news was PEOPLE on Tuesday, July 11. A source told the outlet that the 25-year-old athlete and the 25-year-old spitter had welcomed their first child together in Los Angeles. However, the source did not spill the exact date of the baby girl's arrival.
About the condition of the four-time Grand Slam singles champion and her newborn after the arrival, the source stated that the new mother and her baby girl "are doing well."
Naomi herself announced that she and Cordae are expecting a baby back in mid-January. Through an Instagram post, she let out a photo of an ultrasound screen and several notes written in English and Japanese languages. Along with the post, she stated, "Can't wait to get back on the court but here's a little life update for 2023."
In that lengthy note, Naomi also wrote, "The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find that it's the most challenging times in life that may be the most fun. These few months away from the sport has really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I've dedicated my life to."
"I realize that life is so short and I don't take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure," she went on to share. Months afterward, Naomi updated fans on her pregnancy by sharing pictures that revealed her unborn child's gender. In one of the photos, she stood in front of a decoration with a sign that read, "A little princess is on the way." Her beau Cordae later re-shared her post on his Instagram Story with a simple note that read, "#GirlDad."
