AceShowbiz - Bethenny Frankel has found herself in hot water. After showing off her massive engagement ring, the former star of "The Real Housewives of New York City" received backlash from many social media users and was deemed "braggy."
On Tuesday, June 20, the 52-year-old reality TV star uploaded a video on Instagram comparing a huge diamond engagement ring to smaller baubles. The first was a one carat ring, the second was a two carat ring while the third was her massive diamond engagement ring that she did not mention the details.
Over the footage, she noted, "What am I going to do for this?" Along with the video, she wrote in the caption of the post, "Kind of scared about what this might mean for me… #engagementring #diamond #margarita."
It did not take long for her to be bombarded with criticisms from Instagram users. In the comments section of the post, one in particular wrote a lengthy comment, "Love Bethenny. Just a little ick here. It's beautiful. It's very, very large. And I'm happy for her and she can carry it off."
"But this is just too braggy. And not that safe to post. Look at what happened to Kim," the commenter continued while referring to Kim Kardashian whose $4 million engagement ring was robbed back in 2016. Another critic simply chimed in, "Money Talks……Wealth Whispers. Eeek."
In the meantime, a third asked, "Why would you post this? Bragging much? How do you think you make others feel who have just one carat or less?" A fourth bluntly complained, "I know your rich as s**t…but why flaunt in front of the world your s**t!" A fifth stated, "I have a huge diamond too but I'm never showy about it or try to show off what I own."
Upon knowing she received many unpleasant responses, Bethenny did not hesitate to hit back. Under one of the comments from the social media critics, she replied, "Sorry you're jealous. Feel better. But [clapping hands emojis] for the engagement." She went on to write, "You're buying me another ring."
