John Mulaney's Ex-Wife Recalls Hospitalization Due to 'Severe Suicidal Ideation' Prior to Divorce

In a new essay which was published on Wednesday, June 7, Anna shared she was 'hospitalized for depression, self-harm, and severe suicidal ideation in the first two weeks of 2021.'

AceShowbiz - John Mulaney's ex-wife was going through a hard time prior to their divorce. In an essay for Elle magazine, Anna Marie Tendler claimed she was hospitalized due to "severe suicidal ideation."

In the piece, which was published on Wednesday, June 7, Annna shared, "My mental health hinged wholly on my dog. When I was hospitalized for depression, self-harm, and severe suicidal ideation in the first two weeks of 2021, the doctors asked me to make a list of my reasons for living." She added, "Petunia was the one and only thing on that list."

Anna even went to Connecticut with her late dog the same month John went to rehab. "Petunia and I moved to Connecticut in December 2020, in the wake of my severe mental health breakdown and what appeared to be the impending end of my marriage," she elaborated.

John filed for divorce from Anna after six years of marriage. Following the breakup, Anna shared that while she was "heartbroken" by the comedian's decision to go their separate ways, but she wished him continued success. Their divorce was finalized in January 2022.

John himself has moved on with Olivia Munn. Their romance blossomed amid John's divorce from the artist, and the new couple even welcomed their first child together in November 2021.
