After 13 years, a judge rules that 'the court finds and determines that the conservatorship of the person and estate of Britney Jean Spears is no longer required.'

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears is finally freed. After fighting to end her conservatorship since 2019, the pop star eventually got what she wishes for. On Friday, November 12, a judge officially terminated her 13-year conservatorship without requiring any further mental evaluation.

Celebrating the outcome, the "Lucky" singer posted a video of her fans popping confetti outside the Los Angeles courthouse. "Good God I love my fans so much it's crazy!!! I think I'm gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen ???? #FreedBritney," she wrote along with a video.

She later followed it up with another post featuring a photo of a yellow dress. "I can't freaking believe it !!!! Again … best day ever !!!!" she captioned the image, which has since been removed.

Britney's fiance Sam Asghari also took to his own Instagram page to mark the end of the conservatorship with a post of the word "Freedom" written on a plain pink background. The personal trainer added in the caption, "History was made today. Britney is Free!"

During the virtual hearing, Britney's lawyer Mathew Rosengart stated, "Ms. Spears...obviously fully maintains the position that it is time after more than a decade for the conservatorship to be terminated entirely. The record is clear...that the time has come today to end the conservatorship."

Jamie Spears' lawyer Alex Weingarten said his legal team had "nothing to add." He said, "We affirm our position. My client wants the conservatorship to end immediately." Jamie was suspended as Britney's co-conservator in September.

Judge Brenda Penny ruled, "The court finds and determines that the conservatorship of the person and estate of Britney Jean Spears is no longer required. The conservatorship of the person and estate of Britney Jean Spears is hereby terminated."

Following the hearing, her attorney Mathew told fans outside the court, "What's next for Britney-and this is the first time that this can be said for about a decade-is up to one person: Britney." He noted the singer has been set up in a position "to succeed" post-conservatorship.

"We have a safety net in place for Britney, both on the personal side and on the financial side," the lawyer added. "But Britney as of today is a free woman and she's an independent woman and the rest, with her support system, will be up to Britney."

Sources tell TMZ that Britney plans to go back to the studio once her conservatorship ends. She, however, has no plans to perform in Vegas or anywhere else. The 39-year-old reportedly also wants to take dance lessons.
