AceShowbiz - Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed she almost died giving birth to her daughter Apple.
The "Shakespeare in Love" star shares Apple, 17, and 15-year-old son Moses with ex-husband Chris Martin, and both kids' births involved caesarean sections. But now the Goop founder and wellness expert is sharing the dramatic tale of her girl's arrival into the world for the first time.
"I had two caesareans. My daughter was an emergency. It was crazy - we almost died. It was, like, not good," she tells "Armchair Expert" podcast host, Dax Shepard, without going into specifics.
Gwyneth also tells Dax she has an ever present reminder of the children's deliveries in the form of a large scar.
"Anyway, there's a big scar across your body, and you're like, 'Oh, wow, that didn't use to be there (sic).' And it's not that it's bad, or you want to judge it, but you're just like, 'Oh, my god.' "
In 2013, the "Iron Man" star revealed Apple and Moses were keen to have a sibling but she was hesitant after a previous pregnancy loss during which she again suffered very serious complications.
"I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third. It didn't work out, and I nearly died. So I am like, 'Are we good here, or should we go back and try again?' " she said at the time.
