The 'Truth Hurts' hitmaker addresses the criticism over her choice of outfit on Instagram Live, assuring that their negative comments have no effect on her and they won't change her.

AceShowbiz - Lizzo has responded after she made headlines with her revealing wardrobe when she attended the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game on Sunday night, December 8. The rapper went on Instagram Live on Monday to let her haters know that she couldn't care less about their criticism.

Opening her statement with some encouragement to other young women to be themselves, the 31-year-old said, "Who I am in the essence of me and things I choose to do as a grown a** woman couldn't inspire you to do the same. You don't have to be like me. You need to be like you. And never ever let somebody stop you or shame you from being yourself."

She went on addressing the backlash she received over her butt-baring clothes at the NBA game, saying, "This is who I've always been, now everyone's looking at it, and your criticism can remain your criticism. Your criticism has no effect on me, negative criticism has no stake in my life, no control over my life, over my emotions. I'm the happiest I've ever been, I'm surrounded by love, and also want to spread that love, and spread these cheeks."

She also had a message to those who really hate her butt, telling them to "kiss it" because "kissing it would make it go away." Realizing that she's "shocking because you've never seen in a long time a body like mine doing whatever it wants to do, and dressing the way that it dresses, and moving the way that it moves," she declared, "I'm not going to shrink myself because somebody thinks that I'm not sexy to them."

Lizzo made a jaw-dropping appearance at the basketball game on Sunday night as she opted for a black T-shirt with a giant cut-out on the backside, showing her black thongs. When the Laker Girls performed to her hit song, the raptress joined in on the fun and twerked along to the track.

After photos and videos of the femcee at the event went viral, some people wrote things like "Nobody wanna see that !!!" "man stop" and "Wtf is this" on social media. Ari Lennox later came to Lizzo's defense, posting on her Twitter account, "This is the most contradicting and ignorant s**t I've ever seen in a long time! This has been the year of beautiful women in all shapes in thongs and now there's problem..."

When some people sounded off their disagreement, reasoning that Lizzo's revealing outfit was inappropriate because of the occasion she was wearing it, the singer/songwriter clapped back, "Not here for the insensitivity to social anxiety. Not here for y'alls ignorance on thickness. Not here for y'all literally doing everything in your power to tear down black women."
