The 'Crazy Rich Asians' star is reported to be in talks to tackle the action hero character as the latest installment of the action franchise is set to revolve around his quest for revenge.

AceShowbiz - "Crazy Rich Asians" star Henry Golding is reportedly in talks to become an action hero as he eyes a huge role in the forthcoming "G.I. Joe" spinoff, "Snake Eyes".

The 32-year-old is set to portray the titular character in the latest installment of the action franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Snake Eyes" first appeared as part of the "G.I. Joe" toy line in the 1980s, among a gang of military members fighting terrorism. The film will centre on the character's quest for revenge after his father's death which sees him joining a ninja clan.

Previous films inspired by the popular characters include 2009's "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra", featuring Channing Tatum, and 2013's "G.I. Joe: Retaliation", for which Tatum was joined by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.
