AceShowbiz - Kid Rock has signed on to play a hopeless, food gobbling short-order cook in country legend Bill Anderson's new video.
The rocker joins Gretchen Wilson and Tanya Tucker in the singer's "Waffle House Christmas" promo, which was so controversial in places a representative from the fast food chain had to pull the plug on certain scenes.
Taking over a Nashville-area Waffle House in Tennessee for the day, Anderson tells Taste of Country, "It's the craziest thing I've ever been a part of. We just decided to see how crazy we could get with it."
"Fortunately, we had the blessings of the Waffle House people. They sent one of their executives up for the day. One or two times I think we might have gone over the top, and he said maybe we shouldn't do that."
And the singer was very impressed with Kid Rock, who plays the sleazy chef: "You can see he's a great actor," Anderson says. "He came out to the bus and we talked for a while. He was just as nice as he can be."
Kid Rock has a history with the Waffle House chain - he was arrested in 2007 following a brawl in one of the diners in Georgia and spent 12 hours in jail before being released.
Five members of his entourage were also taken into custody on a misdemeanour charge of simple battery.
He was also replaced as the grand marshal of the Nashville Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 01, by local Waffle House hero James Shaw, Jr., who tackled a gunman during a deadly shooting at the diner earlier this year.
Kid Rock was booted from the parade after he appeared in a boozy TV interview on Friday morning.
