AceShowbiz - Rapper A$AP Bari is suing his sexual assault accuser, insisting she's trying to extort him.
The unnamed woman is suing the A$AP Mob co-founder for $1 million (£780,000), claiming he walked in on her and his assistant making love in a Los Angeles hotel room last summer (Jul17), and demanded she have sex with him too.
In her legal papers, she claimed she ran to the hotel bathroom to hide and alleged Bari, real name Jabari Shelton, and a friend recorded the scene on their phones. She maintained the footage shot by Bari's pal eventually surfaced online.
She also alleged she feared she would be raped and pleaded to be let go, before Bari threw her out of the room naked into the hotel hallway.
According to TMZ, the woman reported the incident to hotel security, who called police officers.
In her lawsuit, she claimed the hip-hop star's attorney pressured her to release a joint statement after the incident, insisting there was no assault.
After the footage appeared online, Bari issued a statement calling the video "misleading" and told Billboard magazine, "We have resolved this issue amicably among all parties as adults. We were friends before this and will remain friends afterwards".
But now, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the rapper claims his accuser, listed as Jane Doe, only started alleging sexual assault after retaining the services of a lawyer. He maintains she told police officers she hadn't been sexually assaulted but was worried about a naked video featuring her leaking onto the Internet.
Bari alleges Doe was relieved when one of the cops deleted the 10-second video that was taken without his knowledge.
The rap star is now suing for defamation and civil extortion.
