'It's so sad to see him unfairly publicly shamed, especially when he is legally bound to speak truth and defend himself,' Lauren wrote on her blog following the pay gap dispute involving her husband.

AceShowbiz - Jason Kennedy's wife, Lauren, has come to her husband's defense following Catt Sadler's exit from E! News over an alleged "massive disparity pay" between her and Jason. Taking to her blog, Lauren weighed in on the pay gap dispute involving her husband.

"I have always said that there are negatives and positives to social media, and these last 48 hours have proven that to be true," she started writing. "I believe in female empowerment and gender equality, but it is heartbreaking that a network (that truly cares about its employees) is being deemed as sexist when that is simply not true."

29-year-old Lauren went on saying that "at one time my husband had a female co-anchor on E! News who made three times his salary," alluding to E! News vet Giuliana Rancic. "Women are paid accordingly on this network, and the difference in his salary versus theirs did not affect Jason whatsoever because he knows there are always more components to consider when determining one's salary than gender alone," she added.

She stated that she posted this because she wanted to "tell the other side, which everyone deserves to know before jumping to conclusions about a place he has called home for the last twelve years."

Lauren revealed that "it's so sad to see him unfairly publicly shamed, especially when he is legally bound to speak truth and defend himself." She continued writing, "His name has been dragged through the mud regarding nothing he did, except be a great friend and colleague to those who work alongside him."

Catt announced her departure on Tuesday, December 19. Writing on her website, she said that while negotiating a contract renewal, she learned that there had been "a massive disparity in pay between my similarly situated male co-host and myself." She continued writing, "I learned that he wasn't just making a little more than I was. In fact, he was making close to double my salary for the past several years."

However, Catt said that she didn't blame Jason for the pay gap, adding, "my heart hurts because I know that people are dragging Jason and certain people are being very hard on him right now." Catt continued, "It is not his fault, he does not make the decision and I believe that he deserves every single penny he is making."
