Speaking to the site, Eddie Redmayne, who's currently in the middle of shooting the sequel in London, reveals that he sustained wand-related injuries. The Oscar-winning actor claims that what were once simple cases of "wand wrist and wizarding elbow" have now become as serious as "wand shoulder strain." "It's from doing some quite hardcore wand action," he says of the magical world's characteristic spell-casting gestures, "but I'm not getting any better for it."

The actor remains modest about his wand skills, but his escalating ailment could hint at some top-rate duels ahead. Director David Yates also notes that "the first film had a level of whimsy; the characters felt like children in grown-up bodies," but "in this movie, it gets grittier and more nuanced and detailed. It's quite a romantic film, it's a thriller, it's quite an interesting combination of genres you rarely see together. I think it will surprise people."

In the second installment of the "Fantastic Beasts" film series, Newt teams up with a young Albus to stop Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) during his rise to power. A recently-released cast photo introduced three characters new to the journey. They're Maledictus (Claudia Kim), the carrier of a curse that will ultimately transform her into a beast who appears to have some kind of connection to Credence (Ezra Miller), Leta LeStrange (Zoe Kravitz), Newt's childhood best friend, and Theseus (Calum Turner), Newt's older brother.

Written by J.K. Rowling, "The Crimes of Grindelwald" opens in 1927, a few months after Newt Scamander helped unveil and capture the infamous Gellert Grindelwald. However, the dark wizard was true to his word and escaped, gathering more followers to his cause. This time, it's down to his former friend Albus Dumbledore to stop him, but with the help of former student Newt Scamander.

The sequel is set to be released in theaters across the nation on November 16, 2018.
