Momoa previously dished on the movie, saying that it's an origin story. Speaking to Total Film, he said that "Justice League" would offer "just a snippet of [Aquaman's] life." He explained, "There won't really be a lot of explanation in the ['Justice League'] movie about Aquaman. You get to see why he's a gruff, tough character, and why he's just a bit of a punk sometimes."

"It's the whole origin story for sure," he noted. "You'll see young Arthur and everything. It goes from before he was born... it's the whole mythology of it."
