Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's 'Despacito' has tied Carey's 'One Sweet Day' as the longest-running No. 1 song and Mimi's fans want to prevent 'Despacito' from breaking the record.

AceShowbiz - Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito" has tied Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's 1995 smash hit "One Sweet Day" as the longest-running No. 1 song on the charts at 16 weeks and Carey's fans are not happy about it. If "Despacito" takes the top spot just one more week, it will break Carey's record.

Thus, Mimi's fans have teamed up with Taylor Swift's fans to end "Despacito" reign. Carey's fans, known as her lambs, are urging one another to stream Swift's latest song "Look What You Made Me Do" in the hopes of toppling "Despacito".

"All fandoms must unite to stop 'Despacito' from breaking Mariah's record by buying and streaming Taylor Swift's new song," one fan of Carey tweeted.

With such feat, it comes as no surprise when Spotify announced on Thursday, August 31 that "Despacito" remix featuring Justin Bieber became the most popular song of the summer on Spotify, with 786 million streams since the first day of summer on June 21. DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts" featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller followed at No. 2, while French Montana's "Unforgettable" placed third at the global list.

In the U.S. Top 30 Songs of the Summer list, "Despacito" still ranked first, while Lil Uzi Vert's "XO TOUR Llif3" took the runner-up place. DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts", meanwhile, landed on No. 3.

Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" itself already broke several records, being the most streamed music video on YouTube in a span of 24 hours with 31 million views. The video received over 30,000 views a minute on its first day.

"Look What You Made Me Do", which is believed to be a revenge song aimed at Swift's enemies Kanye West and Katy Perry, also set Spotify's global first-day record with eight million streams on its release date.
