Clive Russell will play Jamie's grandfather, Lord Lovat a.k.a. The Old Fox, in season 2 of the Starz series.

AceShowbiz - "Outlander" has found Jamie's (Sam Heughan) grandfather in Clive Russell. The 69-year-old British actor will play Lord Lovat a.k.a. The Old Fox, who is described as being manipulative, in upcoming season 2 of the drama series.

Russell appeared as Capt. Tanner in Guy Ritchie's two "Sherlock Holmes" movies. He has also starred as Brynden Tully on HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" and is reported to reprise the role in the upcoming season 6.

In "Outlander" season 2, Jamie and Claire arrive in Paris and live with Jamie's Scottish cousin Jared Fraser (Robert Cavanagh), a successful wine merchant and a strong Jacobite. The show has also added Stanley Weber to portray Le Comte St. Germain, "a wine merchant and member of the French Court," who is described as "a bit of a villain."

Other new cast members include Lionel Lingelser as King Louis XV, who has "a taste for the ladies and is used to getting whatever he wants - until he grows tired of people who no longer appeal to him," and Laurence Dobiesz as Alex Randall, the younger brother of the main antagonist, Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). Alex is a curate and secretary for the Duke of Sandringham. Unlike his brother, Alex is described "as gentle, loving and kind."

Filming on the second season is currently underway for a spring 2016 premiere.
