The 'Bridesmaids' director is in talks to helm a movie based on children's favorite molding compound from Hasbro's toy line.

AceShowbiz - Fox is developing a live-action movie based on Hasbro's toy brand Play-Doh, colored clay usually used for art and craft projects by kids. According to Deadline, "Bridesmaids" helmer Paul Feig is in negotiations to sit behind the lens for the pic with the script by Jason Micallef.

The project inevitably draws comparison to "The Lego Movie" which is based on children's favorite building blocks. Developed by Warner Bros. with Phil Lord & Christopher Miller at the helm, it grossed a cool $658 million worldwide and spawned not only a sequel but also spinoffs.

"The Lego Movie" which features action heroes like Batman and Superman will be followed by Rob Schrab's "The Lego Movie Sequel" set for 2018. Charlie Bean's "Ninjago" will precede it in 2016 and Chris McKay's "The Lego Batman Movie" in 2017.

Another spinoff "The Billion Brick Race" is also in development based on an original idea by Drew Pearce. Jason Segel and Pearce team up to execute the project with the creative minds behind the original "Lego Movie" like Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Dan Lin, and Roy Lee on board as producers.
