Maisie Williams Set to Guest Star on 'Doctor Who'

The 'Game of Thrones' actress' role is kept under wraps, but she will 'challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways.'

AceShowbiz - When she isn't learning some sword skills, Maisie Williams is going to time travel with Doctor Who. The Arya Stark of "Game of Thrones" has landed a guest-starring role on the BBC hit series.

"We're thrilled to have Maisie Williams joining us on Doctor Who," says executive producer Steven Moffat. He won't reveal her character, but says that Williams' character "is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways." He goes on teasing, "This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell."

The young star also says in a statement, "I'm so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it's such a big and important part of British Culture. I can't wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we'll be shooting not too far from my home town."

Picture of Williams' first day on the set of the British sci-fi series has been shared online, showing her standing near the TARDIS.

"Doctor Who" season 9 will feature storylines set in two time periods, "The Girl Who Died" and "The Woman Who Lived".

Williams will reprise her role as Arya in the fifth season of "Game of Thrones" which is set to premiere Sunday, April 12 on HBO.
