Tyler, the Creator

Making music that can be liked by everyone without receiving any help is indeed a difficult thing to do, but it's not the case for Tyler, the Creator. His albums, which have always been produced entirely by himself, never fail to impress both his fans and music critics. His latest album "IGOR" is an example of that.

Hitting the stores on May 17 via Columbia Records, the album was met with widespread critical acclaim, receiving an average score of 85 based on 14 reviews. Roisin O'Connor of The Independent called it the rapper's "best work to date," while Sam Moore of NME described the album as an "accomplished and evergreen record that's well worth putting your phone down, turning the TV off and devoting your full attention span to."

Furthermore, "IGOR" debuted atop Billboard 200, marking Tyler's first No. 1 album on the weekly chart. With that, he became the first solo rapper in history to have a No. 1 album that he produced and arranged entirely by himself. The album was also well-received by people in the U.K. as it debuted at No. 4 on the chart, establishing a new high point for Tyler.

Three songs off the album also managed to chart within top 40 of U.K.'s singles chart, which could be considered as incredible considering that Tyler had only managed to place one single on the chart. It was the lead single from his 2017 album "Flower Boy" titled "Who Dat Boy", which peaked at No. 93.

With such an impressing result, it won't be surprising if "IGOR" is nominated for a Grammy next year, marking his second time receiving a nomination at the biggest night in the music industry. Tyler previously received Best Rap Album nomination at the 60th Grammy Awards for "Flower Boy", which was named among the best albums of 2017 by multiple publications.
