The former White House staff member has decided to leave 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' but she's not ruling out the possibility of returning to the franchise.

AceShowbiz - Candiace Dillard Bassett has announced her departure from "The Real Housewives of Potomac" (RHOP) after six seasons.

In an interview with People, Bassett expressed gratitude for her time on the show and the personal growth and friendships she has gained. However, she stated that with new opportunities and responsibilities, she has decided to take a break from RHOP.

Bassett hinted that her departure may not be permanent, saying, "This is not a farewell, but a 'see you later.' " She thanked fans for their support, calling them her "guiding light."

Bassett's exit follows a turbulent season that saw her clash with several cast members, including Robyn Dixon. In the season 8 reunion trailer, Bassett can be seen calling Dixon a "loser."

Bassett's departure is reportedly voluntary and comes amid rumors that another original cast member, Robyn Dixon, is also leaving the show. Bravo has not yet confirmed or denied these rumors.

Prior to joining RHOP in 2018, Bassett worked in the White House during the Obama administration. Since joining the show, she has released a music album, "Deep Space", and appeared in "The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip".

Bassett's departure leaves RHOP with the following cast members: Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Wendy Osefo, Ashley Darby, Mia Thornton, and Nneka Ihim.
