The new teaser for the upcoming Caped Crusader spinoff series gives a hint at the figure that inspired Oswald 'Oz' Cobblepot to be the infamous villain in Gotham City.

AceShowbiz - Max has unveiled a new teaser for "The Penguin", the upcoming spinoff series from Matt Reeves' "The Batman". Colin Farrell reprises his role as Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot, aka The Penguin, in the eight-episode drama.

In the teaser, Farrell delivers a haunting monologue reminiscing about a gangster from his youth named Rex Calabrese. Cobblepot fondly remembers Calabrese's kindness and the grand parade held in his honor after he died. "Can you imagine to be remembered like that?" he muses.

However, the teaser juxtaposes Cobblepot's nostalgic memories with chilling footage of violence and crime in Gotham City's seedy underground. Gunfights, knife fights, and explosions accompany his narration, hinting at the brutal realities of gangster life.

Along with Farrell, the cast includes Cristin Milioti as Carmine Falcone's daughter Sofia, Michael Zegen as Carmine's son Alberto, and Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni. Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O'Connell, Carmen Ejogo, Francois Chau, and David H. Holmes also star.

"The Penguin" is part of the "Batman Saga," which began with "The Batman" in 2022. The series is expected to premiere this fall on Max, continuing the epic crime saga and exploring Cobblepot's rise to power in Gotham's underworld.

Farrell has previously expressed his excitement about transforming into The Penguin. "It was so fun to inhabit. I had such permission to just explore and create and use my imagination," he said. "It was one of the most fun gigs I've had."
