HBO Max has unveiled two dueling trailers, titled the 'Black trailer' and the 'Green trailer', giving insights into each side ahead of a brutal war over the Iron Throne in the upcoming season.

AceShowbiz - HBO Max has unveiled not only one, but two trailers for the upcoming season 2 of "House of the Dragon". On Thursday, March 21, HBO Max released two dueling trailers, titled the "Black trailer" and the "Green trailer", giving insights into each side ahead of a brutal war.

The "Black trailer" sees Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) reasoning why she's the rightful heir to the throne after her father King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine) died. "My father chose me, his firstborn, to succeed him. He held to his decision until death," Rhaenyra says.

"And yet, Alicent's son sits my throne," she adds, referring to her half-brother King Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney). "I mean to fight this war and win it."

Meanwhile, Jacaerys Velaryon (Harry Collett) points out in voiceover, "The realm will soon tear itself apart if men do not remember the oaths sworn to King Viserys and to his rightful heir."

As Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) seemingly threatens civilians to "renounce the false king and bend the knee to the queen," Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) warns her nephew Rhaenyra. "When the desire to kill and burn takes hold and reason is forgotten, we will not remember what began the war in the first place. I fear what I have begun," she tells her.

On the other hand, the "Green trailer" supports Alicent Hightower's (Olivia Cooke) side. "Only weeks ago, my lord husband was alive and the realm was at peace," she says. "On his death bed, he knew the realm would never accept a queen. Rhaenyra's supporters will believe what they wish, but Viserys wanted Aegon to succeed."

Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) is later seen accusing the Targaryens of being out only "for satisfaction of vengeance." Aegon, meanwhile, is more than willing to go into a war. "Plot against the king and I will pay it back a hundred times over. I'm as fearsome as any of them," he stresses.

Season 2 of "House of the Dragon", which serves as a prequel of "Game of Thrones", will premiere on June 16 on HBO Max.
