AceShowbiz - Drake Bell has implored "Drake & Josh" fans to refrain from attacking his former co-star Josh Peck following Bell's allegations of abuse by Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck.
In the docuseries "Quiet on Set", Bell revealed that he was the victim of abuse by Brian Peck. Despite the fact that Brian and Josh Peck are not related, this revelation prompted backlash against Josh on social media.
According to Bell, Josh has reached out to him to express his support and willingness to assist him in processing his trauma. Bell took to TikTok to address the situation, urging fans to be understanding and not to attack Josh.
"I just want you guys to know that he has reached out to me and it's been very sensitive. But he has reached out to talk with me and help me work through this. And has been really, really great. So just wanted to let you guys know that and to take it a little easy on it," Bell said.
Brian Peck was arrested in 2003 on charges including sodomy and lewd acts upon a child. The minor involved in the case was not identified at the time, but Bell has now revealed that he was the victim.
Nickelodeon has issued a statement condemning the abuse and expressing support for Bell. "Now that Drake Bell has disclosed his identity as the plaintiff in the 2004 case, we are dismayed and saddened to learn of the trauma he has endured, and we commend and support the strength required to come forward," the statement reads.
